Altavista Submission. Altavista is a search engine launched in late 1995. The purpose of the search engine was to provide a quick search to the users by indexing the words in each page. It had experienced the peak of its success in 1998. After a few changes in its structure and with the appearance of Google in the search engine market they had a huge decrease in popularity. Even with a lower popularity. But even though Altavista's popularity has decreased it should not be overlooked.

Well after Overture purchased Altavista in April 2003 in a $140 million deal, Yahoo purchased Overture soon after in July 2003 for $1.63 billion. Meaning that any submission would be done through the same system.
