DMOZ Submission - 27th of July 2009
Today I am going to submit my website to the DMOZ. What is the DMOZ? It is the Open Directory Project which is known as Dmoz which derives from “directory.mozilla.org” and it is the largest directory website available with over 3 million websites. DMOZ presents some advantages such as the fact that it is 100% human edited. With no bots to index the directory it means that the results produced are of better relevancy to the human user. A problem with the DMOZ is that it can take a long time to get your website submitted.
First we should read some rules regarding the DMOZ submission guideline.
After reading the rules I choose an appropriate section. I chose this section cause it seemed most adequate to my website and what I am doing and planning on doing with it.
After filling in all of the required fields, that being a URL, the Title of the website and a Site Description, a brief 25 to 30 words, although my description was extremelly brief it was a sucessfull submission. Now we will have to wait a couple of weeks for it to be listed.
